Sea Lion-2018 Search And Rescue Invitation Exercise
Sea Lion-2018 Search and Rescue Invitation Exercise which was planned, commanded and controlled by Turkish Coast Guard Command was performed successfully within Turkish Search and Rescue Region, in the territorial waters and the airspace of Aegean Sea, between 13-15 May 2018.
In the context of the exercise; information exchange procedures among the national coordination centers were tested, trainings related with fighting against irregular migration and search and rescue were carried out.
Assets of Turkish Land Forces Command, Turkish Naval Forces Command and Turkish Air Forces Command, Turkish Coast Guard Command and Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure which take part in the Turkish search and rescue organization participated in the exercise. Additionally a coast guard boat of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus took part in. Also 22 observers from 13 foreign states, an observer from the International Organization for Migration and 10 observers from the 5 national organizations from Turkey other than Turkish Coast Guard Command attended the exercise.
